The financial basis after the pro career

Stichting Contractspelersfonds KNVB (CFK Foundation) supports professional footballers and professional cyclists with financial bridging after their sports career. The unique bridging scheme allows them to financially bridge the period after their professional career and prepare optimally for their next career.

The bridging scheme is a joint initiative of employees (unions) and employers (clubs/teams), KNVB and KNWU. The CFK was established in 1972.

Savings for later

The bridging scheme is unique of its kind. The professional athlete saves monthly from his gross salary. This creates an individual fund that is used for a monthly payment after the end of the professional career. The amount and duration of the monthly payment depends on the size of his/her fund and can be determined by the ex-prof to best suit his/her personal situation.
The individual funds are invested collectively by the CFK.

The bridging scheme is a tax-facilitated scheme by the Ministry of Finance.
